Dill does well under grow lights. We’ll recommend the exact setup to help your dill thrive.

Best Grow Lights for Dill

It takes a powerful light to provide 12-16 DLI in a 10 hour period. The Bright Grow recommendations are:
  1. GE PAR38 balanced grow bulb. Hang the bulb 16 inches above your leaf canopy. This will provide a circle of light 10 inches across that’s just the right strength.
  2. The GE 24″ LED Fixture is also a decent bet. Hang the fixture 4 inches above your leaves. This gives you a 5-inch wide strip of optimal light.

Dill, like other leafy plants, will thrive under a balanced full-spectrum light.

Balanced full-spectrum lights provide roughly equal amount of red and blue wavelengths while still appearing white to our eyes.

High Output fluorescent or LED grow lights will both work well for growing Dill.

Dill grows best at the cooler end of its range.

Many plants germinate at lower temperatures and prefer more warmth for their growth. This is how plants have evolved — sprouting early in the spring when the days are cool and growing and producing as the days get longer and warmer.
